According to a report by KTLA 5, a man was threatened with a weapon while sitting in his car—and forced to hand over approximately $70,000 in cash—while scouting locations for a potential restaurant in Southern California’s San Gabriel Valley. Police subsequently arrested a suspect in Covina and seized a loaded “ghost gun,” a money-counting machine, counterfeit identification documents, and multiple mobile phones.
The Alhambra Police Department reported that the victim was scouting potential restaurant sites in the San Gabriel Valley when the incident occurred. While he was seated in his vehicle, a man approached him, demanded money, and threatened him with a weapon.
